Community Events

The Friends for Life Seniors Foundation works year-round to bring joy, connection, and meaningful experiences to the seniors in our community. Throughout the year, we visit nearly every local senior center, delivering lunches and celebrating special occasions like Mother’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. These visits have become moments everyone looks forward to—we always have the best time, and the seniors truly light up when we come. We also proudly sponsor the veterans of Massapequa on Veterans Day. No matter the season, we go out of our way to create moments of comfort, celebration, and genuine socialization for the seniors we care so deeply about.

Amy's 60th Birthday Celebration

For Amy’s 60th birthday, the McKenna seniors surprised her in the most heartfelt way. We arrived for our annual Halloween lunch and were met with festive birthday décor, a beautiful cake, and an outpouring of love from the entire center. As the owner of the Friends for Life brand, Amy was genuinely touched—and it was a moment that perfectly captured the special bond we share with the seniors we serve.

This Veterans Day, we were honored to spend the morning at The Oaks for their annual Veterans Breakfast. The veterans enjoyed a delicious hot meal, festive raffles, and special American flag Friends for Life t-shirts that we gifted to each of them. It was a beautiful morning filled with gratitude, laughter, and meaningful conversations as we celebrated the incredible men and women who have served our country.

Thanksgiving at the St. Rose Sunshine Group

We spent a heartwarming afternoon with the St. Rose Sunshine Group, serving a delicious Thanksgiving lunch and sharing meaningful moments together. After everyone was served, we went around the room and asked each senior what they were thankful for this year. Their answers were thoughtful, moving, and full of gratitude—reminding us how special it is to come together, share a meal, and celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving as a community.

Tanner Park End of Season BBQ

We wrapped up the season at Tanner Park with a cheerful end-of-season BBQ, where we sponsored a delicious lunch for all the seniors. It was the perfect chance to spend time together outdoors, enjoy the fresh air, and soak up the last bit of warm weather before the chilly months set in.

Seminars

Many of our local senior centers love to host seminars with our owner, Amy, every couple of months. These sessions are designed to refresh their memory on important safety topics as they grow older and to guide them through the many different ways they can navigate this stage of life with confidence. The seminars are always engaging, comforting, and empowering—giving seniors the knowledge and reassurance they deserve.
